The Last of Us Part 2 Video Review
Some games shock us with how cohesive and well put together they are. From brilliant voice acting, to narrative, to compelling gameplay, these experiences last with us for a long time. Few games from the PlayStation camp manage to do that, but the Last of Us set an unprecedented new bar in what a game could be. Now, after what seems like an eternity of waiting, the sequel to the much loved and critically acclaimed journey through a broken world is finally here. The Last of Us 2 is arguably the most anticipated game of the year and for good reason: it really is as good as we had hoped. Shifting gears to travel with Ellie, we continue the story of survival and what it means to be human, swapping between tender and relatable moments and the brutal, gritty, visceral necessity of survival. If the Last of Us Part 2 has been on your radar at all, now is the time to check out our full spoiler free video review below.
The Last of Us Part 2 picks up five years after the end of the first game, following in the steps of Ellie. This time it is much more than the mutated Clickers and other victims of the Cordyceps fungus the survivors must deal with. A mysterious cult has appeared and threatens their very way of life in the post-apocalypse. Stealth is still very much the name of the game but with notable improvements and additions. Players can upgrade and unlock skills to enhance their crafting and stealth abilities. Improvised weapons are now featured as well as introducing guard dogs as a new enemy which can hunt Ellie down by scent.
The Last of Us Part 2 is set for release on June 19 and will be available exclusively on PlayStation 4. For more information, check out the game’s official website.
