Persona 5 Royal Video Review

Three and a half years ago Persona 5 was released on the PlayStation 3, and while that might not seem like too long ago, developers Atlus decided it was time to drop the game on the PS4 as well.

Persona 5 Royal

This time around however they’ve added some extras to the game, and released it as a new Royal Edition. So what’s new and exciting? It turns out that this latest release of Persona 5 offers up shinier and more polished graphics, all-new characters and content, and all of the DLC. If you’re unsure whether Persona 5 Royal is the game for you, we have a full breakdown of the pros, the cons, and everything in between in our video review below. Enjoy!

Now if you’re not sure what to expect from Persona 5 Royal, it’s a role-playing game where players take the role of Joker, a high school student by day and a phantom thief by night. While attending school Joker finds a group of teens who realize the world they’re living in may not be what it seems. In order to find freedom, and to save those from this corrupt world, these Phantom Thieves of Hearts must use a smartphone app to enter the hearts of these corrupt adults in positions of power.

If you haven’t played the game yourself yet, there’s a whole lot to get lost in. And this is definitely the version you want to pick up as there’s a whole lot more to do. Despite some weirdly slow gameplay pacing, Persona 5 Royal offers an emotional and compelling narrative. In fact, if you’re a Persona fan in general, this one’s pretty much a no-brainer. “Persona 5 Royal is everything I hoped it would be and more. The combat is slick and stylish, the writing hits hard and fast, and the music is hopelessly infectious.”

Personal 5 Royal is available for the PS4 right now. For more information don’t forget to check out the official website here. Have you played the game yet? If so, what do you think about it? Let us know in the comments below or on FacebookTwitter, and Instagram.
