Kingdom Come: Deliverance Video Review – A Captivating RPG History Lesson

Kingdom Come: Deliverance Video Review

When Kingdom Come: Deliverance’s first trailer dropped, it’s fair to say we were awestruck at the majesty of the game. Comparisons to the Elder Scrolls series are natural here, and beyond that series, there haven’t been many notable titles in the first person fantasy RPG genre for quite some time. What Kingdom Come: Deliverance brings to the table is an authentic realism of history that crafts a much more humbling and consuming experience. Rather than swinging your sword wildly from quest to quest, vanquishing everything that moves, and somehow logging hundreds of hours without so much as an in-game nap, this fantasy epic delivers a reality check that takes the typical RPG tropes and turns it into a first-person fantasy sim. Does that catch your interest? Check out our video review below to see why Kingdom Come: Deliverance deserves to be on your radar if it isn’t already.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a first-person fantasy RPG series bathed in historical accuracy and a true realism many games lack. Players will take control of Henry, the son of a blacksmith, as he rises up to fight in the Bohemian war of 1403. While at first glance this gorgeous game appears to be like the Elder Scrolls, Henry will need to manage eating, sleeping, cleanliness, and proper combat skills; he can’t simply bash away with his sword as combat is an evolved dance of skill and timing. This very sobering addition of realism leans the game closer to a fantasy sim – the first of its kind in recent memory. While this new style of gameplay is fantastic, we did note some issues with oddly impassible terrain or the lack of what we have come to expect in the way of save points. Overall, however, Kingdom Come: Deliverance is an experience worth having.
