Anthem End Game Interceptor Gameplay
It’s fair to say Anthem made a huge impact during both of its demo weekends, amassing 40 million hours played collectively. The co-op only looter shooter may be meeting both good and bad press for various reasons, but the general feeling is that this is going to be a big one. Our very own Paul Sullivan was lucky enough to head down to the studio and go hands on with the game before the demo’s even launched, trying out all manner of content we have no idea even exists. Playing as the Interceptor – the Javelin built for speed and melee combat – he got to try out some end-game content with rare loot and huge battles, check out the gameplay footage below to get a nice long look at what the interceptor can do.
Anthem is a brand new IP from BioWare, the team that brought us the original Mass Effect trilogy. Players will take the role of a Freelancer, someone trained to pilot the powerful exo-suits known as Javelins. There are four types to choose from: Ranger, Colossus, Storm, and Interceptor, each with their own unique skill sets. Players will be able to swap between them as well as have multiple loadouts saved for each Javelin. In the game, a god-like race called the Shapers have long since left the world of Bastion unfinished, and their tools – the Anthem of Creation – are scattered about the planet. The Dominion, a militaristic faction of humanity, believe they should control these shaper relics to control the world and it’s up to the freelancers to stop them.
Anthem is built to be a co-op only game, with up to four players working together to save Bastion. During the VIP demo weekend the game was plagued with numerous bugs and issues, however once the following free weekend rolled around these bugs were mostly dealt with and the game ran without problem.
Anthem is set for release on February 22nd, and will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. For more information check out the game’s official website.
