GRIS Video Review – The Art of Moving Pictures

GRIS Video Review

While AAA titles continue to get bigger and bigger each year, indie developers combat these massive studios through creativity, ingenuity, and innovation. New ideas come to life out of necessity and it is from this creativity that we were presented arguably one of the most beautiful games of the year with GRIS. The presentation of this water-color-like tragedy is simply breathtaking, with each from appearing as moving art. With such a powerful and gorgeous innovation the real question is whether or not the rest of the game can stand on its own two feet, or if it’s just another pretty picture. Check out our video review below to find out our thoughts on this one of a kind sleeper-hit.

GRIS is one of the most artistic video games in recent memory, both in its jaw-dropping presentation and the silent narrative told to the player entirely through the protagonists actions, the surroundings, and the absolutely stellar soundtrack. This is a game that sets a tone and uses every means of telling you it’s story without uttering a single word. It’s powerful, it’s breathtaking, and it’s an all-around phenomenal experience. While GRIS is short, there are some segments that feel unnecessary, however, the overall product is one that leaves a lasting memory as any piece of art should.
