Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age Character Trailer
For those of us old enough to remember Dragon Quest back when it was Dragon Warrior, the iconic monsters, beeps, and boops that have carried over since the beginning are timeless beacons of nostalgia. the Dragon Quest series in each of its forms has not only been one of – if not the – genre defining experience for RPG titles, but the fact even the classic 8 bit sounds have survived to the current generation of games just plays our heartstrings like a harp. With the announcement of Dragon Quest XI on the way most of the crew at COGconnected were itching for a chance to go hands on with the latest entry in the iconic series to see what they would have in store for us this time. Square Enix released this character reveal trailer to add some oil to the flames and it looks fantastic, check it out below!
In Dragon Quest XI, players begin as a young man on his way to take part in his villages coming of age ceremony, only to discover he is the reincarnation of a legendary hero. Being declared evil by the king, the young man is then pursued by the army, only for him to discover a group of adventurers who believe him to be the reincarnation of a great hero as they set out to prove his lineage. Featuring turn based combat with a host of modern additions such as battlefield positioning, attribute boosting pep powers, ability trees, and a combination of melee and magic, there is no shortage of brilliant combat options here that are easy to use and a thrill to master.
