Battle Chasers: Nightwar Looks Incredible in First 20 Minutes Video

Battle Chasers: Nightwar Gameplay Video

You can almost be forgiven for not having heard of Battle Chasers. Somehow, the buzz for this upcoming game has been relatively mild and it would simply be criminal to have missed out on what is sure to be a sleeper hit. Battle Chasers: Nightwar is an adventure RPG with turn based combat in a world all of its own. There is something profoundly familiar in the game with its deeply emotional and sympathetic cast, the creative exploration and puzzle system, and the phenomenal turn based combat that makes this feel like a modern styling of Chrono Trigger. But don’t take my word for it, we’ve got the first 20 minutes of uncut gameplay so sit back and enjoy.

Battle Chasers: Nightwar is a continuation of the fantasy comic book series Battle Chasers which began in 1998 and ran until 2001, with the series then ending on a cliffhanger. Series creator Joe Madureira intends to have a three-issue comic book release picking up immediately after the series previous cliffhanger which will release shortly after the game.

Battle Chasers: Nightwar follows the story of Gully, the daughter of a powerful warrior who mysteriously disappeared, leaving behind his legendary gauntlets which she uses in battle. Accompanied by a diverse cast of intriguing characters, players will embark in their journey to discover what happened to Gully’s father. The game features impressive voice acting, beautiful graphics, a crafting system, fantastic abilities, and a turn based combat system with great animations and some smack-talk from the party members along the way. The game also features Dungeon Skills: abilities to be used outside of combat for healing, discovering traps, interacting with the environment, or damaging and causing status effects to enemies prior to an encounter.
