RIG 600 PRO HS Acid Camo Review – Balancing Comfort, Sound, and Style

RIG 600 PRO HS Acid Camo Review

Over the past decade, the advancements in sound technology have significantly improved video game experiences. Spatial audio lets you pinpoint the location of your opponent, enhancing competitive matchups and also heightening the intensity and immersion of single-player adventures. Due to this, finding the right headset is essential to fully immerse yourself in the game. With such a variety on the market, it can be a daunting task to select the right one. Originally released in 2023, the RIG 600 PRO has been given an upgrade with a brand-new paint job and cushions. Will this new take on the product help to elevate the headset above competitors?

Comfort is paramount with a headset. There is nothing worse than having to halt a session due to cups causing irritation. Luckily, the upgrades to the RIG 600 PRO center around this aspect. Collaborating with Wicked Cushions, the new PadZ includes a dense memory foam wrapped in a sports fabric that delivers unprecedented levels of comfort. At just 240 grams, the lightweight headset is perfect for long sessions, reducing fatigue due to the minimal strain on your head and neck.

A Snug Fit

With the ability to unclip the earcups, you can alter the headset to get the best fit. It’s a simple feature that allows for personalization. The addition of a soft, cushioned headband helps give balance to the headset. These aspects combine to create one of the most comfortable experiences that improves your time in front of the screen.

In addition to improving comfort levels, the WC PadZ also helps isolate noise so that you can fully immerse yourself. While the headset has a decent setup out of the box, pairing it with the mobile app allows you to customize the sound which can lead to stunning outcomes. You can create custom settings or select from the presets available to get the right sound for your session. Tweaks can be made through your mobile device which is a quick and easy method to alter settings. I personally found this user-friendly method simple to use, allowing me to efficiently optimize the setup.

Due to the mobile connectivity, the RIG 600 PRO can interact with your device. You can set notifications that you want to receive and answer calls via the headset. This is a great feature that makes the product more versatile, allowing you to get more from the device. Compatible with all major platforms, you can use the USB wireless adapter and/or Bluetooth to connect devices. With the Dual Mode, you can balance audio from two outputs opening up a range of possibilities.

Amped Up

Supporting Dolby Atmos 3D, games sound fantastic with the headset, especially after a bit of tweaking on the app. The spatial technology amplifies the intensity in-game to further immerse you. Compared to others in the same price range, the RIG 600 PRO outshines its peers. There’s a full spectrum of levels that highlight higher tones and amplify the bass. These elements combine to deliver a superior gaming experience.

The omnidirectional microphone includes a nice flip-to-hide boom mic that mutes the function when closed. It’s a great design choice that is simple to use while busy playing online. The mic itself is clear and includes noise-canceling technology so that the device just picks up your voice. All controls are also embedded in the left earcup which allows you to quickly and easily access all the headset’s functions.

A New Look

The new Acid Camo adds a yellow and grey pattern over the headset. Personally, I’m not a fan of the design as it lacks the subtlety that many require when using headphones like this outside of the house. Although the modern design may appeal to younger gamers, older players may prefer a more understated look that blends in with everyday attire.

The RIG 600 PRO HS Acid Camo strikes a great balance between comfort and sound quality, making it one of the best headsets in its price range. The new Wicked Cushions are a standout upgrade, effectively isolating sound to fully immerse you in your game. While it requires some tweaking via the mobile app, this adjustment unlocks excellent sound quality that can be tailored to your preferences, offering rich bass and crisp highs for both gaming and multimedia. Although I’m not personally a fan of the Acid Camo aesthetic, the product is an impressive upgrade, firmly placing it among the top headsets at this price point.
