Halo Wars 2 – Microsoft – PC, X1 (Feb 17)
When the original Halo Wars was released it took the world of Halo that we all knew and loved and turned it from FPS to turn-based strategy. While it wasn’t the most popular game of its time it developed a strong legion of fans. Turn-based strategy is a bit of a niche market but with the release of Halo Wars 2, Microsoft is hoping to gain some new fans to bring along for the ride. 343 Industries has put a lot of work into this one and the new Blitz mode looks to simplify the turn-based style a bit so new fans can ease themselves into the genre. We took a look at the game before release and left very impressed with what was to come. You can get your hands on the game this Feb 17.
For Honor – Ubisoft – PC, PS4, X1 (Feb 14)
Samurai and Vikings and Knights, oh my! Ubisoft prepares to unleash the tactical hack n’ slash For Honor this Feb 14 and if early indications are anything to go by this is going to be one hell of a game. Between E3, the alpha and the beta we’ve gotten our hands on the game a number of times and each time we’re more and more impressed by it. Featuring a new and unique style of combat, stunning graphics and basically, some of the most badass warriors to ever walk this Earth, For Honor looks to be an early contender for one of the greatest games of 2017. Of course, we won’t know for sure until the 14th when you can keep an eye out for our full review.
