3. Astro Bot – September 6
The PS5 came with a free game installed called Astro’s Playroom. It was an incredibly fun 3D platformer that celebrated PlayStation’s history, and used all of the unique functionality of the PS5 DualSense controller. Astro Bot is a sequel to Astro’s playroom that promises 4x the content. It’s a must play for all fans of 3D platformers, and will be an obvious purchase for anyone who played Astro’s Playroom. Astro Bot is a PS5 exclusive. Any sequel this good is an easy nomination on lists like the Top 5 Video Games Arriving in September 2024.
2. NBA 2K25 – September 6
NBA 2K25 is the second major sports release on the Top 5 Video Games Arriving in September 2024. To be honest, recent NBA 2K games haven’t been phenomenal. All pre-release material for NBA 2K25 has focused on the incredible amount of new animations. It sounds like NBA 2K25 will be gorgeous. Hopefully there will be some important gameplay improvements. NBA 2K25 will be available for all consoles and PC.
1. The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom – September 26
The top spot on the Top 5 Video Games Arriving in September 2024 is The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. This newest entry in the Legend of Zelda franchise is special for two reasons. One is that it is in the style of the 2D Legend of Zelda games, and not the mainline 3D ones. And two, this is the first game to star Princess Zelda, instead of Link (aside from the hilarious CD-i monstrosities). The game’s visual style is similar to the Switch remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is a Switch exclusive.
