3. Visions of Mana – August 29
For JRPG fans, Visions of Mana is easily the most anticipated game in the Top 5 Video Games Arriving in August 2024. It’s going to be some people’s most anticipated game of 2024, period. Visions of Mana is the 6th mainline game in Square Enix’s long-running action JRPG series. Some would even argue that the last game, Dawn of Mana for the PS2, doesn’t count, because it was a part of a poorly received World of Mana subseries. Either way, anyone with fond memories of Secret of Mana should be very excited. Visions of Mana will be available for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
2. Madden NFL 25 – August 16
It will be an interesting year for Madden NFL 25, with College Football 25 coming out last month. Will sales decrease? Will people have football fever after a month of a new major football IP? It doesn’t sound like Madden NFL is going to reinvent the wheel, but it’s still one of the biggest sports games of the year. Madden NFL 25 will be available for everything except the Switch.
1. World of Warcraft: The War Within DLC – August 22
The top spot on the Top 5 Video Games Arriving in August 2024 is going to an expansion. World of Warcraft: The War Within is the first entry of a trilogy of World of Warcraft expansions called the Worldsoul Saga. This is the beginning of a plan by Blizzard to release World of Warcraft expansions at a much quicker pace. There’s not a ton of information about new gameplay features, but the narrative sounds like it’s a major step going forward. World of Warcraft: The War Within is a PC exclusive.
