Top 5 Video Games Arriving in August 2024
August 2024 is another awesome month for game releases! The first half of the month is a little slow, but the releases get huge by the end. There are lots of great indie titles peppered throughout, but our runner-up is Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club. It’s the first brand new title in Nintendo’s Famicom Detective Club visual novel series in 27 years! Now here are the Top 5 Video Games Arriving in August 2024:
5. Black Myth: Wukong – August 20
Black Myth: Wukong is the only original IP on the Top 5 Video Games Arriving in August 2024. It’s a triple-A, Chinese developed game that takes its story from the classic Chinese novel, Journey to the West. The world has seen a lot of adaptations of Journey to the West, most famously Dragon Ball. But this third person action RPG looks like the most visually incredible game adaptation. Black Myth: Wukong will be available for PS5 and PC.
4. Star Wars Outlaws – August 30
Star Wars Outlaws is an open world third person adventure game. Its story takes place between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Normally a major Star Wars game would usually rank higher on a list like the Top 5 Video Games Arriving in August 2024. This one is developed by Massive Entertainment, who usually make good games, but not great games. See our review of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora for reference. Hopefully Star Wars Outlaws will buck that trend. It will be available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
