Top 5 Mob Movies to Watch to Get Hyped for Mafia III
With Mafia III just days away from release the anticipation is at an all-time high. If you haven’t seen it yet, check out our 9 minutes of raw gameplay to get you really excited. Releasing on October 7th, Mafia III is the follow-up title to 2010’s Mafia II, and is developed by Hanger 13 and 2K Czech. To prepare for this ultra-violent, open-world, organized crime delight, here are five films to watch in anticipation of putting on your gangster hat (that would be a fedora in this case).
The Godfather Trilogy
Just to get this one out of the way, for those of you who have not seen this masterpiece of a trilogy, The Godfather is a great trilogy to watch regardless of your interest in Mafia III. The Godfather trilogy follows the Corleone family in a story of violence, betrayal, and family. In a film series featuring classic Al Pacino, Marlon Brando, Robert Duvall, and Diane Keaton, this legendary series will definitely get you pumped up to take on Mafia III.
Scarface
Say hello to my little friend! Al Pacino makes our list again with yet another classic film. Scarface follows the trials and tribulations of Tony Montana, a Cuban immigrant who chases the American dream of money and power by resorting to drugs and violence. Like The Godfather, Scarface is a story of loyalty, betrayal, and power. A favorite film for many, I will definitely be keeping Tony Montana in mind when I wield a shotgun in Mafia III.
