Gaming has come a long way since the days of the Commodore 64, the Colecovision, the NES and the Dreamcast. If you grew up playing games from these generations long passed you likely feel an overwhelming strike of nostalgia when you think back to them. For a whole new generation, they’re able to look back on the games from last generation with a certain amount of reverence and we thought it would be fun to get some of the COGconnected team on board for their own top ten of last gen. 12 members of COGconnected assembled all their top ten games from the era of the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and the Wii. We’re counting them all down and today we dive into number 7! See who you match up with in the great Top 10 of Last Gen Countdown!
Shawn Petraschuk (Executive Editor) – RAGE
Yes, everyone, it’s true! id Software is more than just DOOM! Granted, the new DOOM is one of the most amazing games ever made I would be remiss not to mention how much I absolutely loved RAGE when it was released. While some people complained that the game was a bit stiff in spite of its amazing graphics (to which I think is a fair complaint), I found that the story, visuals, and characters all added up to one of the best experiences I had on my Xbox 360. This is definitely a franchise that I would love to see Bethesda revisit at some point in time.
Trevor Houston (Executive Editor) – Forza Motorsport 2
This smooth as silk racer offered up an incredibly deep experience that felt so good and so realistic. I still recall blasting a little Dave Matthews Band in the background while I screamed down Laguna Seca in my Evo. Playing online with friends was a blast and resulted in some memorable epic games, and rage inducing collisions. To this day, Forza 2 remains one of my personal favorites if not the best racer I’ve played.
