7 – Stretchmo
Intelligent Systems can do no wrong (okay, except for Code Name: S.T.E.A.M.), so it’s no surprise to see Stretchmo on the list. Mallo was back for some more puzzling fun, and the game built upon the series’ previous entries, Pushmo and Crashmo, by adding the ability to stretch pieces. It is also one of Nintendo’s first free-to-start games, so players can purchase what puzzles they want to play.
6 – Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight
Etrian Odyssey 2: The Fafnir Knight is more than a simple port of the second game of Atlus’ successful dungeon crawler. It adds a whole new story to the mix, and a very good one at that. The production values are high, as you’d expect from Atlus, with the localization being one of the best of 2015. Not only is it the best dungeon crawler of 2015, it might be the best on 3DS.
5 – Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate was a breakthrough game for Capcom’s beloved series. While always popular in Japan, the series never quite found a broad market in North America. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, which was released alongside the New 3DS, managed to change that, and the series’ popularity soared to new heights on Western shores.
4 – Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker
The follow-up to one of the best 3DS games to date, Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker did not disappoint. Featuring full voice acting, and a wonderfully localized story, this remastering felt fresh to both new and returning players. Don’t let this game slip off your radar.
