I’m going to come right out and say it: I love candles. While Bubble and Geek’s handmade soy candles might be a bit heavy to hang on the mantel, they have a variety of geek-themed products (including, thankfully for me, Thor-scented items) that fit right into one’s stocking-themed needs. A lip balm makes a snug fit, for example, and hey, you do you: I’d love to find a candle in my Christmas swag, even if it did make the mantel a bit heavy.
7 – Pokémon Let’s Go Poke Ball Plus Controller Case
That’s a lot of words to say “this thing holds your Poke Ball controller,” but wordy or not, this is a great gift for someone who loves Pokémon Let’s Go but would never think to get something like this for themselves. Pokémon Let’s Go celebrates the mobility of the Nintendo Switch, which means a carrying case makes a big difference. Besides, finding a Poke Ball in your Christmas goodies? Well, that’s just a classic at this point.
I know, it’s not exactly inspired, but there’s nothing like a slim little card that lets someone get right into that multiplayer experience. No one likes paying that sixty dollars a year for their membership, so it’s nice to have that onus taken away with a classy card like this. What more is there to say? It’s the little black dress of gaming gifts.
We’ve started the nostalgia with Pokémon, now we’ve got YuGiOh back in the game. This gift can be twofold, either given as a reminder to a friend of the old days (or, you know, the current days, no judgment here) or as an introduction to a classic nerd pastime. YuGiOh never went anywhere and for good reason—why not slip some cards down the chimney this year?
