This one is going to require a little more effort on your part. There are seemingly hundreds of carrying cases for the Switch out there. With different materials, pockets, storage options, colors, designs, these things can range from $15 to $50 with ease. Most cases will come with at least five slots to hold additional games and will offer some level of protection against weather or damage. This is another present that is incredibly practical for the Switch gamer as they will undoubtedly want to take it out of the house and feel safe and secure in doing so.
For as amazing a device as the Switch is, its hybrid nature means its huge AAA games are going to eat a sizable portion of the consoles unfortunately limited memory. Good things come in small packages, however, as getting your hands on a microSDXC card will greatly increase the memory capacity of the console and mean you can put off the install shuffle a while longer and enjoy every one of those games they are sure to buy over the holiday season.
Unless you know every game in their library, it can be hard to pick out a game to surprise them with. The Nintendo Switch currently has hundreds of games available online so unless they tell you exactly what they want it can be pretty daunting to attempt to find just the right game. While it might feel like a cop out, why not just pick them up a handy eShop card instead? Not only do they get to pick any game they want so it will automatically be the perfect gift, maybe they really want some DLC you didn’t know about? It’s an easy buy and the kind of gift any gamer would be happy to have.
Amiibo’s have been dormant as of late but they are making a fierce comeback with the impending release of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Every single character in the series will have an Amiibo, so whoever that Switch gamer loves to play as will have a brand new Amiibo to look forward to. King K. Rool? Ridley? Pichu? It’s an unprecedented list of characters not to mention the recent release of Solaire from Dark Souls, the Metroid double pack, Detective Pikachu, and so many more. Not only are these figures functional but they are well put together and just look great on the shelf, any gamer would love to have more!
#1. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
If there is one game and only one game for the Switch to put on this list, it has to be Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. If they have a Switch, chances are they already love the upcoming entry into the Smash series and are waiting with bated breath like the rest of us as the release date inches ever closer. This is going to be a huge seller this Christmas season as the game is set to blow away every previous entry in the series by including everything from the entire franchise and more. Whether playing solo or with friends, Smash Bros. is bound to offer countless hours of replayability and wacky insanity, what better way to say Merry Christmas?
