Hitman Stuns in Public Beta – 5 Reasons Why It Was a Success

The beta for Hitman acts as a prologue to the full game, giving players a guided tutorial mission, and two levels to play through as many times as possible, in as many different ways. There are challenges to play through and complete as well, such as assassinating the targets wearing a certain disguise or by using a specific method. With the only downside to the beta being the lack of content available, here are five reasons everyone should be gearing up to play Hitman when it is released on March 11th.

Origin Story

Before and after each of the missions, there are scenes that act as Agent 47’s origin story. In the few scenes available, we are introduced to Agent 47’s future handler Diana Burnwood, and given a look at the training Agent 47 is tasked with to become the weapon of destruction we have all come to know and love. These scenes are short and sweet, but filled with just enough detail to allow us to peek into the making of Agent 47.

Crisp Graphics

From the get go it is clear that the graphics are sharper than ever before, with more detail added to each of the main characters, specifically Agent 47, Diana Burnwood and the targets. Significant time was also spent on developing the intricacies of the surrounding scenery, buildings etc, rounding out the game as a beauty to behold. There is a more realistic feel to the game that was previously lacking in Hitman: Absolution and Hitman: Blood Money.

Interactive AI

While playing through the missions, I was impressed time and time again by the way the AI have been refined and given a larger role within the game. Each of the characters interact with Agent 47 in some way, from getting annoyed if he bumps into them, to telling him to leave if he barges into a room. On top of this ‘all player interaction,’ Agent 47 now has the ability to talk to some of the other characters. I am excited to see if this leads to important information or different opportunities within the full game. Overall, this interaction gives the computer characters a realistic feel for the first time in the history of the franchise.
