Solid Switch Port
Call of Duty is no stranger to Nintendo consoles, but despite the rantings of a few delusional individuals, they weren’t very good – especially when you compare them to their 360/PS3 and Xbox One/PS4 counterparts. Nintendo ports usually feature weaker visuals and even cuts to content due to hardware limitations. Now, the Switch might not have the same capabilities of the PS4 or the Xbox One, it still deserves a solid port of Black Ops 4. It might not match its counterparts in terms of visuals, but as long as it features all the same great gameplay and multiplayer without any substantial content cuts, it’ll be a worthwhile addition to the Switch library. Bethesda gave Switch gamers a solid version of Doom, maybe Activision can provide the same level of quality with Black Ops 4.
Ignore the Black Ops III Story
Call of Duty: Black Ops III was a solid game, but the story was absolutely horrendous. Even after two playthroughs, I’m still not sure what the hell happened and it took months of counseling for me to move on. It had a great cast of characters, four player co-op, classic Call of Duty gameplay, and even some pretty epic setpieces – but that story just felt like a convoluted piece of trash. So, whatever the story is in Black Ops IIII – just ignore the events of Black Ops III (or at least gloss over them very quickly).
Bring Back Co-Op
Black Ops III allowed players to team up for four-player co-op through the entire campaign. Black Ops 4 needs to bring this back! Call of Duty games generally has a brothers-in-arms feel to them, especially when you consider 2017’s WWII – so it only makes sense that you’ll be able to enjoy the game with your actual brothers, sisters, friends, and/or complete strangers (you know, the ones with the good candy).
Roman Numerals
I’m not sure who’s idea it was to name this fourth Black Ops game “Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII” but those four “I”‘s are just messing with my OCD! Give us Black Ops IV, the proper usage of Roman Numerals. Or change it up and give us Black Ops 4 or maybe Black Ops Four. Heck, I’d even settle for a Call of Duty-inspired golf game called Black Ops: Fore! where the objective is to golf with world leaders and settle world disputes like gentlemen.
And there you have it, our Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 wish list. And if I know Call of Duty fans, I bet that there are counter-arguments for probably every wish here and a whole slew of wishes that didn’t make this list. Don’t keep those ideas pent up inside! Leave a comment below and tell us what your Black Ops IIII wish list would look like. And if I said something that really ticked you off, don’t leave angry troll messages – send me a tweet and we’ll settle the argument like gentlemen over a game of Black Ops: Fore!
