Dragon Quest XI
Dragon Quest is one of the most iconic series in all of gaming, and the next proper installment will be coming next year. Dragon Quest XI will release on both PS4 and 3DS, but the console version will understandably have significantly improved visuals.
Persona 5
Persona 5’s delay from 2015 to 2016 was a tough one to swallow. The long awaited follow-up to Persona 4 couldn’t possibly have more anticipation than it does now. Thankfully, Atlus has a history of delivering quality products, so JRPG fanatics can look forward to raising their social links in 2016.
Final Fantasy VII Remake
After the accidental trolling of fans at the PlayStation Experience 2014, Square Enix finally gave into fan demand and announced that a remake of Final Fantasy VII is in the works at E3 2015. While details are scarce, and we don’t expect to be playing this until 2017 at the earliest, it’s still great to see many gamers’ dreams come true.
Tales of Berseria
While Tales of Zesteria may have ruffled some people’s feathers, there is no denying that Tales of Berseria sounds awesome. Players will control Velvet, a teenage pirate. We’ll soon know more about Bandai Namco’s upcoming title, but until then we’ll be fantasizing about life at sea! So there you have it, 9 JRPGs we think will be worth playing in 2016, and even beyond. Â If you think that there is a JRPG that is not on this list, and worthy of being so, let us know in the comments below, as we’d love to hear what you think.
