2016 Holiday Gear Guide Part 1 – Best Gear & Accessories for Xbox One, PS4, Wii U and PC

Nintendo Gear

While this is the Wii U’s last Christmas, there is still some enjoyment to be had. Not to mention the 3DS is still as popular as ever in the handheld department, But Nintendo’s biggest hit might have been 30 years in the making…

NES Classic Edition

Let’s make one thing clear, every gamer needs an NES Classic Edition. The NES is celebrating it’s 30th anniversary, and what better way to relive those adventures then on a console made to look and feel just like the original. Or maybe you never had the opportunity to play these classics on their original console, the NES Classic Edition will give you an experience of gaming history unlike no other. Included is 30 classic games, from the original Super Mario Bros. to Samus Aran’s first adventure in Metroid to the Final Fantasy that started it all. The package includes only one controller, so if you’re looking for some two player action, you’ll need to pick up an additional NES Classic Controller.

Battle Pad – Link

A revised version of the Gamecube controller designed for use on the Wii U – it’s perfect for Super Smash Bros. (Wii U), so if you’re still addicted to one of the Wii U’s biggest games, this will be a perfect addition. It also has a very cool Legend of Zelda aesthetic.

Amiibo

Nintendo isn’t slowing down on their Amiibo collection! Debuting in December is “The Legend of Zelda” series which includes Amiibo based on The Wind Waker and Ocarina of Time. But the highlight of the collection is the 8-Bit Link Amiibo based on the original Legend of Zelda (which you can play on your new NES Classic Edition!). Recently released Amiibo include Wario, Waluigi, Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Daisy, Rosalina, and my absolute favourite, Boo (which actually glows in the dark!).
