Skullgirls 2nd Encore Hits PS4 and Vita This Summer

This 2D fighter is getting an upgrade this summer along with a new venue. The developers, Lab Zero, have announced on their homepage that they’ll be bringing Skullgirls to PS4 and Vita this summer with additional content like Survival Mode and Challenges.

The new version is also supposed to have a fully voiced story mode, a nice addition to the original game. They’ve put out the cast list and there are some great names, like Kimlinh Tran who you may remember from Helsing Ultimate Abridged or Dragon Ball Z: Abridged. While it’s a step in the right direction, PC fans may feel slighted as they’ll only be able to access this through paid DLC at a later date.

Those that pre-order will receive a bonus theme for their PS4, which will be previewed on the site before the launch. Sony’s cross-buy feature will also be supported. While it may not be worth it if you’ve had your fill of Skullgirls on PC, this is a great chance to pick up a decent fighter if you like the style and can’t afford MKX right away.
