Join the Action in HMUR
HMUR, the fast-paced first-person shooter set in an alternate version of the 1990s USSR, has received a new playable demo on Steam. Solo developer FoxusSexus has also released a fresh launch trailer to accompany the demo.
The demo is available from today through October 1, giving players a limited window to check out the latest version of the retro-inspired shooter. It marks the first chance for players to jump back into HMUR since its previous public playtests.
Since those earlier tests, FoxusSexus has continued developing the game, introducing new ideas and making changes based on player feedback. The latest demo gives players a look at how much the project has evolved during that time. The timing also coincides with Boomstock 2026, a Steam festival celebrating fast-paced retro shooters, which runs from September 17 to 24.
Speaking about the new demo, FoxusSexus said: “Quite a lot of time has passed since the last playtests, and HMUR has changed considerably since then. This demo is a chance to see the current version of the game and the results of the work that has gone into it over that time. Feedback is still extremely important to me, so I hope players will share their impressions after playing.”
Players can also leave feedback and reviews on the game’s Steam page, with their impressions helping shape HMUR as development continues. For fans of old-school shooters, this latest demo offers a good opportunity to see where the game is heading and experience its newest improvements firsthand.
