Outplay Your Opponents in FreeStyle Football 2
JOYCITY has released a new trailer for FreeStyle Football 2, giving players another look at the character-driven 5v5 soccer game ahead of its Prime Open Beta and upcoming appearance at PAX West 2026.
The Prime Open Beta is scheduled to begin on September 4, with pre-downloads already available. Players can access the test on Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation, with full cross-play support allowing PC and console players to compete together. This latest beta brings several new features and content based on feedback from previous tests. Players will meet Lena, a new German defender who can operate as either a wing-back or full-back, while Hamburg joins the game as a new playable location.
The beta also introduces the opening chapters of the first single-player Story Mode, following requests from players for more solo content. Friendly Matches will let players set up custom rooms for 5v5 games, while a new Goal Replay system and customizable keyboard controls provide additional improvements.
The protagonist, Lena, also has an interesting story of her own. A former professional soccer player from a famous German motorbike-racing family, she turned to football after a career-ending doping scandal.
Meanwhile, JOYCITY will bring FreeStyle Football 2 to PAX West from September 4–7 at Booth #409 in the Seattle Convention Center. Six stations will be available for attendees to try the game, with booth missions offering exclusive merchandise while supplies last.
With the Prime Open Beta adding plenty of new content, FreeStyle Football 2 looks ready to make a strong impression at PAX West.
