A Huge Debut for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has made an impressive debut, with Ubisoft announcing that the remake sold more than 2 million copies on launch day. It highlights the continued popularity of Edward Kenway’s pirate adventure more than a decade after the original game first launched.
The game also attracted huge attention across streaming and PC platforms. It became the most-watched title on Twitch on launch day and reached a peak of 99,451 concurrent players on Steam within its first 24 hours, setting a new record for the highest player count ever achieved by an Assassin’s Creed game on the platform.

Critics have also responded positively to the remake. Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced currently holds an 85 score on OpenCritic and an 84 on Metacritic, making it the highest-rated Assassin’s Creed release since the original Black Flag. IGN awarded the game a 9/10, while Digital Foundry praised it as one of the most effective remakes ever made. Players have also shared positive feedback, with strong user ratings across PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam. Here at COGconnected, the game got a perfect score of 90 out of 100, making it one of the most highly rated releases of this year.
Built from the ground up by Ubisoft Singapore using the latest Anvil engine, the remake modernizes the 2013 classic with enhanced visuals, improved stealth, smoother parkour, refined parry-based combat, deeper naval gameplay, and additional story content.
Set during the Golden Age of Piracy, players once again step into the boots of Edward Kenway as they explore the Caribbean, encounter legendary pirates, and become entangled in the long-running conflict between the Assassins and the Templars.
With its strong launch and positive reception from both critics and players, it looks like the game will have a successful voyage ahead.
