Lost Vessel Launches July 6 as a Free-To-Play Sci-Fi Idle RPG With Co-Op Endgame

Get Ready to Step Inside the Lost Vessel

Independent developer Lazy Frog Games has announced that Lost Vessel, a new sci-fi idle RPG, will officially launch as a free-to-play title on July 6, 2026. Created by solo developer Simon Haberl, the game will be available on Steam for Windows and Steam Deck, as well as through web browsers, with cross-platform save support allowing players to continue their progress on either platform.

Unlike many idle RPGs that focus on endless solo grinding, Lost Vessel takes a different approach. Players begin by building their character through a deep progression system featuring skills, a melee, ranged, and void combat triangle, crafting and forging with rare legendary upgrades, mastery paths, prestige mechanics, and body-mod implants. As players grow stronger, the game gradually shifts its focus toward cooperative gameplay.

The game centers its endgame on multiplayer activities, including shared expeditions, server-wide world boss battles, and faction construction projects that unlock new content for the entire community. According to the developer, the goal is to make individual progress feel meaningful by contributing to a larger shared experience instead of remaining a solo grind.

“Every idle game I loved eventually left me alone with a spreadsheet,” said Simon Haberl, founder of Lazy Frog Games. “I wanted to find out if all that solo progression could pour into something you do with people instead. That’s the whole reason Lost Vessel exists.”

The game also promises an optional faction warfare system while avoiding pay-to-win mechanics, giving players a fair progression experience regardless of how they choose to play.

With its blend of idle progression and community-driven endgame content, Lost Vessel is shaping up to be an interesting new entry in the genre when it launches on 6th July.
