Hotel Galactic Expands Deep Underground With New Update and Fresh Features

Welcome to Imoshima Island in Hotel Galactic

A fresh chapter begins for Hotel Galactic as newly formed studio EndgameLoop Games rolls out a major content update, bringing a wave of long-requested features to the cozy, story-driven title. Alongside the update, the game is also part of the ongoing Steam Summer Sale, now available at a steep 70% discount, marking a strong push to welcome both new and returning players.

This latest patch significantly expands the experience. Players can now build downward with fully explorable subterranean levels, complete with a mining system that adds a new layer of progression. Customization also gets a big boost thanks to a newly introduced dye system, allowing furniture and staff outfits to be recolored freely. New room types, such as the Cinema and Library, add variety, while portals make navigating the ever-growing hotel much smoother.

The update also introduces the mysterious Verg species, along with a standout VIP guest designed to shake things up. On top of that, fresh story content and a reworked Guest Ratings system aim to provide clearer feedback and a more engaging narrative flow.

The road here hasn’t been easy. Following a mixed Early Access launch in July 2025, the original developer, Ancient Forge, struggled under financial pressure despite ongoing efforts to improve the game. EndgameLoop Games has since taken over development, bringing in members of the original team to maintain continuity and vision.

Those efforts are starting to show. With playtime now stretching up to 40 hours and overall reception steadily improving, Hotel Galactic feels closer than ever to what it set out to be. For anyone still undecided, a free demo is available, with progress carrying over to the full game.

It’s a meaningful turnaround story, and one that’s finally beginning to land the way it should.
