Experience an Epic Story in Anima: Song From the Abyss

Indie developer Anima Project has officially confirmed that Anima: Song from the Abyss is set to launch in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Set within the rich universe of Anima: Beyond Fantasy, the upcoming title blends classic pen-and-paper RPG elements with fast-paced hack-and-slash combat. The game uses a third-person perspective and introduces a dual-protagonist system. This allows players to control two distinct characters as they uncover the secrets buried deep within the Abyss.

The story begins aboard an imperial zeppelin that descends into chaos after most of its crew mysteriously vanish. Players step into the role of Soren, the last surviving knight tasked with protecting a dangerous relic tied to a forgotten civilization. As an unknown force stalks the airship, Soren’s desperate attempt to save the vessel leads to an even greater disaster. Hence, unleashing a powerful entity sealed within the artifact.

Following the crash into the Abyss, the entity reveals herself as Noein and offers Soren a chance to survive. In exchange, he must help her uncover the truth behind a mysterious song believed to have caused the fall of an ancient civilization. As well as the reason behind her eternal imprisonment.

With its focus on fluid combat, narrative depth, and a world filled with danger and secrets, Anima: Song from the Abyss aims to deliver a story-driven action RPG experience that stays true to its tabletop roots.
