Enjoy the Early Stages of Resident Evil Requiem
Capcom has officially released a playable demo for Resident Evil Requiem on the Switch 2, giving players an early look at the latest chapter in its long-running survival horror franchise. The demo arrives months after the game’s full launch on the platform and is now available to download directly from the eShop.
The preview lets players step into the opening segments of the story, featuring dual protagonists Leon S. Kennedy and Grace Ashcroft. While it offers a solid taste of the experience, Capcom has confirmed that progress made in the demo will not carry over to the full version.

Resident Evil Requiem introduces a darker and more immersive tone, blending classic survival horror elements with modern gameplay design. Players follow Grace, an FBI analyst driven by personal loss, as she investigates a mysterious death, while Leon returns as a seasoned agent tackling a new wave of bioterror threats. Their narratives gradually intersect, creating a tense and emotional storyline.
The game revisits the infamous Raccoon City, offering deeper insight into its tragic past and the events surrounding the 1998 outbreak. Gameplay focuses on combat, puzzle-solving, and resource management, with the added flexibility of switching between first and third-person perspectives.
Overall, the demo serves as a strong introduction to what Capcom describes as a new era for the series. It gives both longtime fans and newcomers a chance to explore its atmosphere and mechanics before committing to the full experience.
