RavenQuest Is Receiving a Free Major Expansion on 23rd May

The Tyrants Are Rising in RavenQuest

Tavernlight Games has officially unveiled Rise of Tyrants, a free major expansion for its MMORPG RavenQuest, set to launch on May 23. Designed as the game’s first dedicated endgame PvE group experience, the update introduces the all-new Tyrant System, built to challenge coordinated five-player teams with deeper, more strategic encounters.

At the core of the expansion are five distinct boss fights, each crafted with unique mechanics and layered complexity. Players will face off against The Sun King, The Master of the Hunt, The Mad Scientist, The War Drummer, and The Elemental Storm. These encounters go far beyond traditional stat-based battles, featuring evolving phases, environmental threats, and mechanics that demand precise teamwork. Each fight offers a different experience, ensuring variety across runs.

To further push players, the update introduces Sigil difficulty tiers. This system adds scalable modifiers that increase both the challenge and rewards, encouraging groups to refine strategies and climb leaderboard rankings over time. Alongside this, a new Relic progression system provides long-term incentives, allowing players to unlock stackable bonuses, including increased Gemstone drop rates and Renown gains, by upgrading Tyrant-specific Relics.

The expansion also brings broader improvements to the game. A reworked Rangers Company introduces a self-balancing hunt system, while 14 new spawn locations expand exploration. Additional updates include Marketplace enhancements and an expanded Munk Carnival, complete with new activities and a Munk Luck System tied to Legendary Pets.

Nicolas Schrik, Game Director of Tavernlight Games, said: “Rise of Tyrants brings the endgame group PvE content RavenQuest players have been asking for, fights that truly challenge coordination and reward mastery, not just gear.”

With its focus on skill-driven combat and meaningful progression, Rise of Tyrants looks set to redefine RavenQuest’s endgame experience.
