Tavernlight Games has officially revealed Fortune’s Frontier, a major new seasonal mode heading to RavenQuest, bringing a fresh, high-stakes twist to the free-to-play sandbox MMORPG. Designed to level the playing field, this new mode shifts the focus away from gear advantages and places skill and strategy at the center of every encounter.
Set in a chaotic, untamed era of the game’s lore, Fortune’s Frontier revolves around the wreckage of the legendary ship, The Dawn of Fortune. Its scattered riches now lie across the perilous Pirate Isles, drawing players into a fast-paced, risk-heavy experience. Unlike the core game, this mode introduces seasonal resets and allows both newcomers and veterans to jump in with advanced-level characters. This ensures a fair and competitive environment from the start.
The mode introduces three distinct islands, Sajecho, Harbor, and Gilead, each offering increasing levels of danger. Players can choose between safer zones or high-risk “Full-Drop” PvP areas where defeat comes at a steep cost. The gameplay follows an extraction-style loop, tasking players with battling enemies, collecting Treasure Pouches, and escaping safely. Then they can convert their loot into Silver and seasonal rewards.
Customization also takes a dynamic turn, with gear earned during runs and unique Trinkets enabling varied builds and strategies. Additionally, the mode ties into the broader $QUEST ecosystem. It features a seasonal reward pool that supports top performers and strengthens the game’s evolving player-driven economy.
According to CEO Nicolas Schrik, the mode aims to break traditional MMO progression barriers while offering a competitive, skill-based experience where every decision carries weight.
