Join the Shell Shock in VR With Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Empire City
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are stepping into a completely new dimension with the launch of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Empire City, as Beyond Frames Entertainment and Cortopia Studios bring the iconic heroes into virtual reality for the first time. The game is now available on Meta Quest, Steam VR, and Pico, priced at $24.99.
This story-driven action-adventure places players in a changed New York City where Shredder has already been defeated. With that power vacuum left behind, new threats begin to rise. Rival factions are fighting for control, including Karai, who leads the Japanese branch of the Foot Clan, and Mashima, a mystic intent on restoring the chaos and dominance once associated with Shredder.
The game offers both single-player and optional co-operative multiplayer, allowing players to team up and take on the Foot together. As players move through familiar neighborhoods, they will face classic enemies while embracing the signature style of the Turtles, including combat, exploration, and, of course, plenty of pizza.
A key highlight is the freedom in gameplay. Players can approach combat in their own way, whether that means using stealth tactics or going all-in with aggressive attacks, shaping the experience to match their preferred Turtle.
Alongside the base game, a Digital Deluxe Edition upgrade is also available for $4.99. It includes alternate skins inspired by different eras, as well as a digital art book and soundtrack.
Overall, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Empire City delivers a fresh take on the franchise, blending familiar characters with immersive VR gameplay in a new and evolving setting.
