Roadside Research Is Entering Steam Early Access Next Week

Prepare for the Invasion in Roadside Research

Get ready to go undercover! Roadside Research launches into Early Access on Steam on February 12th. After attracting more than 800,000 demo players and earning over 475,000 wishlists, the offbeat co-op simulator from developer Cybernetic Walrus and publisher Oro Interactive is finally ready to open for business. Behind the pumps and paper masks, however, lies a far stranger operation than your average roadside stop.

Roadside Research is a 1–4 player co-op simulation game where you and your friends run a gas station while secretly posing as aliens in disguise. Your goal is simple in theory: act human, keep the station running smoothly, and gather intelligence for an impending invasion. In practice, things get messy fast. Players must refuel vehicles, restock shelves, and satisfy customers, all while avoiding suspicion and keeping their true identities hidden.

Progression unfolds across two interconnected spaces. Above ground, you’ll upgrade and expand the gas station to improve efficiency and profits. Below ground, a concealed alien research facility allows you to invest in advanced extraterrestrial technology, preparing for humanity’s eventual downfall. Choosing how to balance these upgrades is key to survival.

Whether played solo or with friends, Roadside Research thrives on chaotic interactions and emergent comedy. Mastering alien disguises, deploying strange technology to influence customers, and managing rising suspicion are all part of the experience. Let suspicion spiral out of control, and government agents will intervene with disastrous results.

Roadside Research enters Early Access on February 12th, priced at $12.99 USD/EUR. Wishlist it on Steam and prepare to blend in, gather intel, and begin the invasion, one tank of gas at a time.
