From the Void Demo Is Already Available on Steam

Command Your Fleet From the Void

Solo indie developer BlackPaw has announced that a playable demo for From the Void is now available on Steam. While still an early build, the demo lays the groundwork for a deep and flexible experience, giving players a chance to explore a procedurally generated galaxy, test different fleet compositions, uncover relics and modules, and experiment with synergy-driven builds that can push strategies to their limits.

From the Void is a tactical autobattler taking place in deep space, where players collect and upgrade unique ships, each defined by distinct roles and stats. Success depends on smart planning, as you must carefully manage where ships are placed, either on the battlefield or in the hangar, to maximize synergy and efficiency. Every scrap of resources and unit of energy matters as the galactic threat steadily escalates.

The game’s structure revolves around navigating uncertain sectors of the galaxy. Each run unfolds differently, with branching paths made up of nodes that force strategic decisions. Every movement consumes limited Ether, while Scrap fuels upgrades, choosing between fighting, shopping, or repairing is crucial to survival.

Combat takes place in real time on a hex-based grid, where outcomes are largely determined before the battle even begins. Strategic unit placement and thoughtful customization through modules allow players to redefine ship roles or fully specialize their fleet.

The Hangar adds another strategic layer, granting powerful passive buffs from ships not directly deployed in combat. By aligning the right combinations, players can unlock devastating bonuses and create powerful synergies.

The Void is waiting. Add From the Void to your Steam Wishlist today.
