A New Milestone for Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown
Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. has announced that Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown has surpassed 7 million units sold worldwide, marking a major milestone for the long-running flight combat franchise. First released in 2019, the narrative-driven aerial action game continues to attract players across multiple platforms, including PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.

Ace Combat 7 places players in the cockpit of advanced fighter jets within a dramatic, story-focused campaign set in the fictional world of Strangereal. The game blends fast-paced dogfights with cinematic storytelling, detailed aircraft design, and a powerful musical score, elements that have helped it maintain strong appeal years after launch. Ongoing support, platform expansions, and sustained community interest have also contributed to its continued commercial success.
To celebrate the 7 million units sold milestone, Bandai Namco has released commemorative wallpapers for Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, now available for fans to download from the official Ace Combat website. In addition, music from Ace Combat X and Ace Combat X2 has been added to the Ace Combat Series Soundtracks collection on Bandai Namco Game Music, allowing fans to revisit some of the franchise’s most iconic tracks.
Looking ahead, Bandai Namco has also confirmed the next entry in the series. Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve is currently in development and scheduled for release in 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The announcement points to a strong future for the franchise as it builds on the success and legacy established by Ace Combat 7.
