NEUROMANCE has launched the Steam page for AENIGMA: The Light At The End Of The Tunnel Is A Train today. The game presents a Kafkaesque psychological thriller shaped by science fiction and built around the long conflict between humanity and silicon-based lifeforms. The story unfolds in the distant year 4XXX, where humans survive inside immense underground structures, separated from the surface to avoid the spread of these evolving threats.

AENIGMA uses a layered approach to storytelling. Its narrative moves through an alternate history delivered as a story within another. And sometimes within a third, creating a sense of shifting perspectives and drifting timelines. The structure relies on non-linear progression, allowing players to witness the events from multiple angles and piece them together.
The visual design centers on harsh and imposing environments. Players can move through interpretations of brutalist architecture, monumental sci-fi constructions, surreal kafkaesque realms, and scenes crafted with a cinematic focus. It also features a large cast of more than forty distinct characters.
The scale of the game extends to its locations and artwork. More than fifty areas are included, and the game contains over two thousand rendered backgrounds. The soundtrack follows a detailed approach as well. Each scene holds its own composition, and the complete collection reaches one hundred and two tracks, with leitmotifs guiding the tone across major moments.
A playable demo of AENIGMA will be available on Steam in the first quarter of 2026. The game’s trailer will be coming out during this winter’s V3 Expo. It promises to offer an early look at the atmosphere and direction of the project.
