Damned 2 Returns to Redefine Multiplayer Horror This August

Damned 2 Is Ready to Horrify Everyone

Over a decade after shaping the asymmetric horror genre, Damned 2 is making a comeback. Developed by 9Heads Game Studio using Unreal Engine 5 and published globally by Nuntius Games, the sequel is set to launch in Early Access on August 7, 2025, via Steam. Console versions for PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Series S|X, will follow soon after.

Damned 2

The original Damned, released in 2014, was a pioneering indie title, widely regarded as the first true asymmetric horror game. Its success helped spark a wave of genre-defining titles like Dead by Daylight and Friday the 13th: The Game. Despite its indie roots, the game gained popularity through streamers like PewDiePie, Alanzoka, and Seananners and became a cult favorite among fans of multiplayer horror.

Now, after years of development and experimentation, Damned 2 aims to push the genre forward once again. A free public playtest will be live from July 3 to July 7, exclusively on PC. Interested players can join by clicking “Request Access” on the game’s Steam page.

The final playtest will feature the new monster Blight, two fresh survivor characters, Mother Lucy and Mac, and a new map called Ashen Mortuary. Players can also expect updated features and balance changes. Streamers are already lining up to showcase the game during the event.

To thank the community, all participants will receive an exclusive in-game banner. With its legacy as a genre trailblazer, Damned 2 is poised to terrify a new generation of players.
