LandShark Games has officially launched Grifford Academy into Early Access on Steam. This coming-of-age RPG blends turn-based strategy with isekai storytelling, inviting players into the magical world of Caldria alongside teen protagonists Erika, Viva, and Cap. Here, every day, adolescents’ struggles collide with ancient magic and dark forces.
“Early Access was always something we wanted to dial into with Grifford Academy,” said Paul Naylor, Founder of LandShark Games. “Our game has a strong character focus, but this extends well outside of the narrative. It’s a game about growth in many forms, and EA allows us to explore that fully, especially from a more systemic perspective. Players’ insights and feedback will help us plot a path to 1.0.”
Described as a “lite academia” RPG, Grifford Academy features a streamlined combat system and a strong focus on character growth. The Early Access launch marks the start of a development phase shaped heavily by community input. LandShark Games plans to refine the experience through open development, using player feedback to prioritize upcoming features and updates.
Several new additions are already in the works, including Recipe Hunting, the introduction of Pets, and a Roguelite Mode. The team will roll these out progressively based on player preferences. To give fans a clear picture of what’s ahead, the studio has released a detailed Early Access roadmap, now live in a new Steam post.
Grifford Academy is currently available at an introductory price of $14.99 / €14.99 / £12.79, with a 20 percent discount. With its unique mix of teenage drama, tactical combat, and fantasy adventure, the game sets the stage for a full 1.0 release planned for 2026.
