Lost in Prayer Is Launching in Early Access This July

Try the Lost in Prayer Demo on Steam

Nine Dots Studio has announced that Lost in Prayer, their ambitious new tactical roguelike, will launch in Early Access on July 15. A demo is already available on Steam, offering players a first taste of its unique premise: anything that kills you becomes playable.

Lost in Prayer

Set across the dual realms of Heaven and Hell, Lost in Prayer combines turn-based combat with deep strategy. Mastering clever combos is essential, as every enemy has its own powerful abilities. And once they defeat you, you’ll unlock them as new characters to use in future runs. With 26 playable characters already available in the demo, the game promises diverse playstyles and ever-evolving strategies.

Guillaume Boucher-Vidal, CEO and Creative Director at Nine Dots, shared that the project has been in development in spirit for 14 years. This game had to exist, he says, driven by a desire to modernize traditional roguelikes without watering them down. We aren’t risking over a million dollars on this super niche subgenre just for fun.

Key features include:

– Play as Your Killer: Unlock enemies that defeat you, each with their own skills.

– Dual Paths: Choose between Heaven or Hell, both offering unique challenges and environments.

– Tactical Depth: Use terrain and ability combinations to survive overwhelming odds.

– Morality-Based Progression: A new system replacing RPG stat points, balancing Sins and Virtues for different strengths and weaknesses.

– Unique Skill Trees: Every character has a distinct set of skills to master.

When Early Access begins on July 15, players can expect 10 levels, 30 playable characters, hundreds of items, and countless hours of replayability as they fight their way out of Purgatory.
