Defend Your Castle in Islets Defense
Brazilian studio MiniGoof, founded by former Aquiris developers who previously worked on titles like Fortnite and Horizon Chase 2, has officially revealed its first original game. Islets Defense will launch on June 18, 2025, on Steam, published by Nuntius Games, also known as the “YouTubers’ publisher.” The developers also plan to release console versions for PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series S/X, and Xbox One, as well as Nintendo Switch 1 and 2. Combining tower defense, turn-based strategy, and resource management, Islets Defense offers a fresh take on tactical gameplay. Players will build villages, shape terrain, and develop custom strategies across carefully designed stages. With cozy visuals and the tactical depth of board games, the game strikes a balance between accessibility and thoughtful design.
The game features 15 handcrafted levels along with a Hardcore mode that adds another 15 stages. With no random elements, players can compete fairly on global leaderboards, where creativity and strategic planning are key to success. While the full release will include all core content, MiniGoof has not ruled out future updates or downloadable content based on player feedback. The game is now in its final polishing phase and is expected to go gold soon.
A free demo is already available on Steam. It offers players a chance to experience the strategic depth and style of Islets Defense firsthand. Interested players are encouraged to try the demo and add the game to their Steam wishlist ahead of its June release.
