Space Architect Launches Its Biggest Update Yet — Now 60% Off

Start Designing in Space Architect

The indie base-building sim Space Architect has just released its most ambitious update. To mark the occasion, the game is available at 60% off for a limited time. You can purchase the game for just $3.99 until 14th May 2025.

At the heart of the update is a completely overhauled temperature system. Gone is the single-station temperature model; each grid cell now manages its own heat level. This shift brings deeper strategy and realism, with devices now at risk of overheating and shutting down if players don’t plan accordingly.

New cooling tools have been introduced to help manage the heat. Players can now install cooling pipes and the powerful Active Cooler, which can chill down to 50°C below zero. These tools work seamlessly with the revamped pipe-laying system, making base design both more flexible and intuitive.

Under the hood, a major technical upgrade has slashed load times. A full rewrite of the save and load system has cut average load times from 26 seconds to just 2.9, a ninefold improvement.

Other highlights include:

– Transport pipes that now operate at double speed
– Over 20 new ambient music tracks
– Persistent device panels and overlays
– Scrollable image sections in the knowledge base
– Real-time fill indicators for storage visuals
– In-world naming for devices
– Multiple UI and localization improvements
– Dozens of smaller quality-of-life updates

Built with input from its community, this update reflects months of player feedback. The developers have thanked everyone who contributed ideas, reported bugs, and supported the game’s growth.

Looking ahead, Space Architect promises more features on the horizon, including new devices, deeper interactions, and possibly even crew behaviors that react dynamically to temperature.
