Square Enix Announces Final Fantasy XIV Mobile

The Next Step in Final Fantasy

It’s always an exciting concept when a game expands to the mobile gamers of the community. Of course, it provides a chance for the developers to translate their game’s mechanics to the mobile sphere. Yet, this iconic game series is no stranger to mobile adaptations. Today, Square Enix and Lightspeed Studios are happy to unveil Final Fantasy XIV Mobile. Bringing the massively multiplayer experience of the game to mobile, this new version aims to faithfully recreate the game’s original gameplay and story. Obviously, it aims to do this in a way that is mobile friendly. A press release provides more details on the mobile version of FF XIV. 

Final Fantasy XIV Mobile is recreating the award winning gameplay of the MMO. Importantly, the transition to mobile will include some of the features that veteran players have grown to love. For instance, FF XIV Mobile will include lifestyle content such as fishing, Triple Triad, and chocobo racing. Yet, equally as important, the intricate weather and time-of-day systems which offer over 600 different weather patterns remain untouched and specialized for the mobile experience. Of course, the game’s equipment, character models, and gameplay visuals, have been painstakingly crafted for the mobile experience.

Final Fantasy XIV Mobile will be available soon in a playable demo. The demo tests will begin in China and move to other regions at a later date. For more information visit here.
