Start the Assault in Under Defeat
Clear River Games and City Connection have announced that the arcade shooter Under Defeat is launching on consoles on 5 December 2024. It will be available physically on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. And digitally on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam. This version is bringing the full, action-packed shooter experience to the West. It will also include all the DLC content that was once exclusive to Japan.
Originally launched in 2005, Under Defeat quickly won over fans with its intense, arcade-style action. In the game, one or two players pilot powerful helicopters through waves of enemy fighters across a semi-isometric battlefield. The game’s unique aiming system lets players tilt their shots left or right, adding a fresh twist to the combat. It includes three game modes, all crafted under G.rev’s guidance to keep players coming back for more.
Arcade Mode captures the classic arcade feel with a 4:3 screen ratio and a vertical-style display, bringing the retro experience to life. New Order Mode updates this for modern screens, expanding the action to a widescreen 16:9 format. For an even more intense experience, New Order Mode+ adds exciting new features, including a “WARNING GAUGE” that introduces a risk-and-reward element, giving players extra strategy as they shoot, bomb, and dodge waves of enemy invaders.
Under Defeat also features an impressive soundtrack, newly enhanced by Shinji Hosoe known for his work on Ridge Racer and Tekken with his team at Super Sweep.
