Mojang is co-teasing a “new look and feel” for this year’s Minecraft Live, making it unique compared to past events. They also recently announced that they will be revamping how the studio handles updates in the future. That being said, the show will still be full of “latest and greatest” Minecraft-related news.

“We’ll be unveiling never-before-seen game drops,” the devs explain in the official announcement, “giving you exclusive insight into new things coming to the world of Minecraft, and more! It’s all coming to you directly from the developers at the Minecraft HQ, here in Stockholm. We’ve also prepared an after-show where you’ll get to watch our developers go even deeper into the updates and play through new content for the first time ever.”

For the first time, this year’s Minecraft Live won’t feature the mob vote. This will likely be a relief for many longtime fans. In the past, players were invited to vote for one of three new mob designs for the game. While these polls sparked plenty of excitement, they also stirred up a fair share of drama and frustration as the voting process unfolded each year.
