Sci-Fi on a Grander ScaleÂ
Get ready to return to an award-winning universe full of excitement and strategy. The launch protocols are active and the hyper-space gates are ready. Battlecruisers will take flight, strike craft whizzing between them, as ancient civilizations play witness to the warfare exploding amidst nebulas. Today, Blackbird Interactive and Gearbox Publishing announced that the next installment of their award-winning sci-fi strategy series, Homeworld 3, is releasing on March 8th, 2024. Described as a “sci-fi strategy game twenty years in the making” in a press release, the game allows players to assume command of a fleet of starships and lead them in combat. Importantly, a new teaser trailer provides players with a glimpse of the game and all its glory.
Homeworld 3 places players smack in the middle of a galactic mystery. A threat known as the Anomaly has emerged causing the failure of the hyperspace gates. Now, players assume the role of  Imogen S’Jet and become fleet command. Of course, the game is reintroducing the same tactical combat fans love about the series. Massive battleships can maneuver to deploy strike craft as players fight over the destroyed ruins of ancient civilizations. Obviously, asteroids, particle storms, and other phenomena can throw a wrench in any plan, yet most of the strategy is up to you. Flank, outmaneuver, attack head-on, sneak around, fight how you want.Â
With the announcement of Homeworld 3’s release date, pre-orders are also available. The pre-orders come in these editions: Standard, Deluxe, Fleet Command and Collector’s. Of course, each different edition comes with some extra bonuses for pre-ordering. For instance, the Kushan Carrier War Games Skin, early access to the game, and more.
