Fall Guys To Be Priotized by Epic Games
Epic Games recently laid off 16% of its workforce, with reports suggesting that Mediatonic, the developer of Fall Guys, was “hit very hard” by the layoffs. However, an Epic Games spokesperson has stated that Mediatonic is still intact, and that the work on the game continues to be a company priority. According to the original Bloomberg story, two-thirds of the latest job cuts at Epic were in teams outside of “core development.”
Employees who have been affected will receive “six months of severance and health insurance, as well as accelerated stock vesting”. One individual from Mediatonic who was impacted was director and writer Ed Fear, who expressed his sadness at leaving behind “so many amazing Mediatonic colleagues“. Epic Games has stated that it doesn’t have any more layoffs planned and is still actively hiring in other roles. It is assumed that, despite the unfortunate circumstances with the layoffs at Mediatonic, Epic Games will continue to make sure Fall Guys remains a successful title with a healthy playerbase.Â
