Niktophobia Bringing Co-Op Horror to Steam in 2024

You Aren’t Alone

You’ll need to gather some friends. More importantly, you’ll need to gather some courage. Prepare to enter a nightmare. Today, OldYacht is proud to announce their new co-op sci-fi horror game, Niktophobia, is coming to Steam in 2024. Releasing for both VR and PC, the game invites players to step into an isolated space station full of darkness and horrors. Luckily for players, they don’t need to go it alone. A press release delves into the horror that awaits players. Additionally, an announcement trailer shows off exactly the kind of fear players can expect from the game.

Niktophobia

Niktophobia aims to harness the fear of sci-fi horror and stuff it into a space station. Playing as members of a biological and chemical threat prevention team, players are sent to investigate a space station that reported power core failures and then ceased responding. Of course, players can choose to investigate alone or with up to three friends. Yet, they aren’t the only ones on the station. Importantly, the game uses an interactive, learning, AI Alien threat that changes based on player actions. The player’s goal is to complete the mission at any cost. However, to do so, players will need to delegate responsibilities to get everything done before its to late.

Interestingly, Niktophobia uses lighting and the contrast between washed-out bright spaces and pitch blackness to instill fear. Of course, players can get a great look at the type of environments that they will explore in the announcement trailer. Check out the trailer below.

Niktophobia is releasing for PC via Steam in 2024. So will you be diving into the darkness of the game? Do you have your squad ready?
