Dropping Bombs
Classic Bomberman gameplay is pretty set in its ways. You got a maze-like grid, rocks, and bombs. Try to outmaneuver your opponent and blow them to kingdom come. Super Bomberman R 2 keeps the core gameplay, but adds a whole new element in the new Battle Mode.
Konami released a new trailer for new game. The trailer showed off the returning modes like Story Mode and Gran Prix. One of the new modes includes Castle Mode, which is an Attack and Defend mode. It is a little bit like Capture the Flag, but with bombs.
In Castle Mode, the attacking team must clear the way from their base to the defenders’ treasure chests. They also need to find keys to those chests and loot them before the round is over. The defenders must keep the attackers away at all costs. As long as one of the chests remains by the end of the round, defenders win.
The Bomberman Brothers are back with a new battle and story mode adventures in SUPER BOMBERMAN R2! Coming to #NintendoSwitch digitally on Sept. 13.

Not only that, but players can build their own maps, complete with different obstacles to slow your attackers. This will be an effort to share and highlight community-made stages.
Another returning mode will be the battle royale, which was a standalone free-to-play game. It was released on all platforms including Stadia, but went offline in late 2022.
Super Bomberman R 2 will be coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. Physical copies will be available on September 12th, while digital copies will be released on September 13th.
