Should Have Called it a Crash Pass
Something wicked this way rumbles. Crash Team Rumble is confirmed to be coming out in three months. This time next month, there will be a closed beta for the game. That is, if you pre-order it.
It might seem like a drag having to pre-order the game just to play the beta, but there are some other things you can get. There is the Standard Edition and the Deluxe Edition. Pre-ordering either will get you access to the closed beta. The Standard Edition also comes with the Retro Threads skin for Tawna and the unlocked Premium Battle Pass.
Yes, Crash Team Rumble will have a battle pass. It IS published by Activision after all. The Deluxe Edition has even more battle pass fun. It unlocks the Premium Battle Pass for season 1 and 2. It also unlocks the first 25 tiers of the Battle Pass right away. On top of everything that comes with the Standard Edition, it includes the Digital Proto Pack.
The Digital Proto Pack is comprised of several cosmetic items. It includes 8 “Blocky” Hero skins, a “Blocky” Score FX, Pixelated Shadow, Unique banner, “Blocky” Hat, “Blocky” Backpack, and the “Get on My Level” Victory music.
Our preview of Crash Team Rumble showed off two different teams, each comprised of four characters. Hopefully, the battle passes and future updates will include more ways of distinguishing your characters with cosmetics or even entirely new characters.
Crash Team Rumble will be coming out on June 20th for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Pre-ordering either edition will get you access to the closed beta which runs from April 20th-24th.
