It Will Probably Be Revealed During an In-Game Event
Call of Duty 2021 has been confirmed to be underway, but we don’t have a lot of official information about it as of writing. However, that hasn’t stopped Call of Duty leaker Tom Henderson from sharing what he knows about the upcoming title.
Earlier this year, Henderson announced that this year’s game will be called Call of Duty: Vanguard–which is a pretty awesome name–and that it will likely be coming out midway through the year. Now, he claims that it will be revealed through an event in the existing online Battle Royale game Call of Duty: Warzone, and that the reveal will likely take place between August 18th and 25th so Activision can talk about it at Gamescom 2021.
Call of Duty 2021 will be revealed "mid year" and is also going to be revealed via Warzone.
We're a while away from a reveal yet, best guess is probably August to coincide with the Black Ops Cold War reveal.

At present, Activision has only this to say about the new Call of Duty: “This is a built-for-next generation experience with stunning visuals across campaign, multiplayer and cooperative modes of play designed to both integrate with and enhance the existing COD ecosystem.”
That doesn’t tell us much about what Call of Duty: Vanguard will be like, but we can at least draw some conclusions on when it will be released from Activision’s previous Call of Duty announcements. Since the company has already begun announcing new titles through Call of Duty: Warzone, it’s not exactly a stretch to guess that Call of Duty: Vanguard will do the same thing.
Additionally, Gamescom has recently announced that Activision will be participating in its annual event. This online convention–which takes place from August 25th – 27th–would be an ideal place for Activision to share detailed information about Call of Duty: Vanguard.
Henderson’s conclusion is that Call of Duty: Vanguard will likely be revealed in advance of Gamescom, i.e. somewhere between August 18th and 25th. Since Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War was also teased in Warzone before its official reveal event, there’s precedent for Activision doing something similar. For now, fans will just have to wait and hope.
Call of Duty 2021 is in development.
